Things I Love In November

I love a good cup of coffee, it doesn't matter if Starbucks makes it ( most reliable) or an Italian restaurant, or in someone's home, just make sure it is fresh, quality coffee made strong enough and preferably served in a good china cup.

I like iced chai tea, yes, even in chilly November. Sometimes it is the spice that makes for the feeling of comfort and warmth.

I like warm blankets and a fire in the stove.

I like the smell of burning leaves, of clear moonlit nights with the chilly breezes blowing.

I like the thistles and thorns in November, their stark outlines piercing the gray and beige of the landscape grayed down by frost and rains.

I like the earnest endeavor of stews and soups for supper. The cozy desserts of apple confection and gingerbread spice. I like the anticipation of holidays with their joyous blaze of frenzied busyness and the radiant heat of friendly gatherings set against the first snowfalls and the early fall of dark nights.

Every season has its joys.

This is a wonderful musing...So many people have a love/hate relationship with November, but I've found it to be one of my favorite months...Hearty food, warm sweaters, frosty mornings--love it! Though, I'm sure the novelty of frosty mornings here in Ohio will wear off soon:)

my husband enjoyed reading this too- I guess it helps brighten up the days when you focus on the good things.

frosty here is nice, it is the grueling winter damp and cold that is..well, not so nice.
